Should we change the name of Aligarh to Harigarh?? :)

Aligarh, the movie, is under stiff opposition from none other than the Mayor of Aligarh.

Those who have been keeping a watch on the Manoj Vajpayee starrer would know that this is a widely acclaimed movie based on the life of the AMU professor Ramchandra Siras who was suspended from his job because of his sexual preferences.

To put it bluntly, he was gay, so he was fired.

Now that the movie is released the Mayor of Aligarh, Shakuntala Bharti, has claimed that she will not allow the movie to be screened in Aligarh.

She claims that naming the movie “Aligarh” will spoil the name of Aligarh.

Why?? Because obviously Gays are bad. As if you didnt know that by now.

The only people at the moment who are considered worse than Gays are JNU students.

If you are a Gay from JNU you are kinda doomed for eternity though.

The Mayor does not have a objection with the movie but she has a objection with the title of the movie.

Obviously, everyone who goes to Aligarh will now think everyone in Aligarh is Gay, right??

Just like people think everyone living in Lokhandwala is a Gangster after they released Shootout at Lokhandwala.

Infact whenever visitors to go to Wadala, they call everyone living in Wadala as “Aye Manya Bhai” after Shootout at Wadala.

And then there were movies like Bombay and Madras Cafe and Calcutta Mail which complete spoiled the names of these three cities.

After watching those movies everyone feels that Bombay people are Rioters, Madras people are War Rebels and Calcutta people are Goons.

But hey, we were smarter.

We quickly changed the names of these three cities 😉

So, Aligarh should do the same ….. change the name of Aligarh.

After all VHP has demanded last year that they should change the name of Aligarh to Harigarh …… this would be the perfect opportunity to do that.

Disclaimer: I wonder why they changed the name of Bangalore to Bengaluru … Were there any movies made using Bangalore which might have spoilt its name??
