Bholu Bhakt was sitting with a cute round faced kid on his lap, as I walked into his house.
Me: Hey Bholu, how are you today?
Bholu Bhakt: Bhai, I am good.
Bholu patted the little kid on his bum trying to push him off his lap.
Bholu Bhakt (to the kid): Beta, go play elsewhere for some time. Let me talk to my friend.
Kid: Nooooo! I want to sit in your lap.
Bholu Bhakt: Arey Beta, you play elsewhere, you can come sit in my lap again later.
Kid (flapping his arms about): Nahi naaa! I want to sit in your lap only.
Bholu Bhakt: Beta, Gulab Jamun are ready now. Go have some from aunty.
The kid jumped off his lap in a flash and went to the kitchen.
I smiled at Bholu as I heard the munching and slurping sounds from the kitchen.
Me: Bholu, who is that kid? He is so cute.
Bholu Bhakt: Kahe ka cute Bhai. He doesn’t even say a hello to me when I walk past him in the society, but as soon as he gets the news that my wife is making something tasty for desserts he comes and plomps himself in my lap and doesn’t leave till he has had his fill of the goodies.
Me: Oh…..What did you say his name was?
Bholu Bhakt: Naren, Bal Naren. Why Bhai?
Me: Nahi…..aise hi poocha. Aadatein milti julti hain.
Bholu Bhakt: 😠😠😠😠
